Restoration could now begin. A back wall was rebuilt and the house was entirely re-roofed. The ornate brackets on the porches have been reproduced by a local craftsman and financed by a charitable grant from the Questers. The Friends of the Foster Farmhouse are seeking contributions to continue the exterior and interior restoration. They have initiated an “Adopt-A-Brick” campaign for honorariums and memorials. An “Adopt-A-Room” campaign will help restore the house to its former glory along with other individual and corporate donations. Much work remains to be done.

Your help is greatly needed!

The Foster Farmhouse Gets a Fresh Coat of Paint.

Many thanks goes to about fifty students from Walled Lake Central Highschool's "Paint the Town" program who met with painter Mark Adams on Saturday, May 21, 2005 to put a fresh coat of paint on the Foster Farmhouse. The house sits on City property at Riley Park on Common Street in Walled Lake. It is planned that the public use for this building is to reuse it as a local history museum and cultural center.
